Gustavo Cantarero “Tito”, age 33, tragically passed away on May 1, 2025, following a worksite accident while operating heavy machinery during a bridge construction project. Born in Intibuca, Honduras, on August 10,1991, Tito moved to the United States at 17 in pursuit of the American Dream. He was one of seven siblings and the fourth-born, known for his deep devotion to his family, especially his younger siblings, whom he always supported and encouraged. 

 Like so many immigrants, he arrived with nothing but a dream and an unshakable will to build a better life. He started at the bottom, doing the most basic tasks like shoveling dirt to lay the foundation for major projects, including building bridges. Through grit, humility, and relentless hard work, he quickly rose through the ranks. He became a highly skilled operator of heavy machinery used in earth-moving and construction, handling everything from hauling materials to managing complex tasks with remarkable efficiency. 

His skill and dedication earned him the trust of his colleagues and respect from all who worked with him. But it was not just what he did, it was who he was. When the most critical tasks arose, such as the complex operations involving cranes, he was one of just four workers selected to assist. On a site full of workers, he stood out for his experience, skill and reliability. He was not just respected for his talent, he carried something bigger with him. As the only Latino entrusted with a walkie-talkie, he quietly became a symbol of representation on the site. 

 He took pride in standing tall for his community and never hesitated to look out for “his people.” Whether it meant guiding a new worker, speaking up when something was not right, or simply offering encouragement, he made sure that others like him felt seen, heard, and valued. To many, he was not just a coworker — he was a leader, a voice, and a source of strength for the Latino community on the job site. Although he loved working with heavy machinery, Tito felt a calling to pursue a new adventure. In 2024, he set his sights on building something of his own. 

 After gaining many clients, he officially launched Oak.C Lawn and Landscaping as an LLC in March 2025. His company will stand as his lasting legacy. He is survived by his father, Juan Cantarero; his siblings: Herica Cantarero, Gerson Rodriguez, MarthaRodriguez, Aracely Castillo, Elias Castillo, Daniela Orellana and Kenia Cantarero (on his father's side); and many extended family members, friends, and coworkers who loved and respected him deeply. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Castillo.

Gustavo Cantarerode 33 años, falleció trágicamente el 1 de mayo de 2025, tras un accidente laboral mientras operaba maquinaria pesada durante la construcción de un puente. Nacido en Intibucá, Honduras, el 10 de agosto de 1991, Tito se mudó a los Estados Unidos a los 17 años en busca del sueño americano. Fue uno de siete hermanos, el cuarto en orden, y siempre se destacó por su profunda devoción a su familia, especialmente por el apoyo y ánimo constante que brindó a sus hermanos menores. Como muchos inmigrantes, llegó con nada más que un sueño y una voluntad inquebrantable de construir una vida mejor. Comenzó desde abajo, realizando tareas básicas como palear tierra para sentar las bases de grandes proyectos, incluyendo la construcción de puentes. 

Con esfuerzo, humildad y trabajo incansable, ascendió rápidamente. Se convirtió en un operador altamente capacitado de maquinaria pesada utilizada en movimientos de tierra y construcción, manejando desde el transporte de materiales hasta tareas complejas con notable eficiencia. Su habilidad y dedicación le ganaron la confianza de sus compañeros y el respeto de todos los que trabajaron con él. Pero no fue solo lo que hizo, sino quién era. Cuando surgían las tareas más críticas, como las operaciones complejas que involucran grúas, él era uno de los cuatro trabajadores seleccionados para asistir. En un sitio lleno de obreros, él destacaba por su experiencia, habilidad y confiabilidad. 

 No solo era respetado por su talento; también representaba algo más grande. Como el único latino con un radio de comunicación (walkie-talkie), se convirtió silenciosamente en un símbolo de representación en la obra. Se sentía orgulloso de representar a su comunidad y nunca dudaba en velar por “los suyos”. Ya fuera orientando a un nuevo trabajador, alzando la voz cuando algo no estaba bien, o simplemente ofreciendo palabras de aliento, se aseguraba de que otros como él se sintieran vistos, escuchados y valorados. Para muchos, no era solo un compañero de trabajo: era un líder, una voz y una fuente de fortaleza para la comunidad latina en el lugar de trabajo. 

Aunque amaba trabajar con maquinaria pesada, Tito sintió el llamado de emprender una nueva aventura. En 2024, decidió construir algo propio. Después de conseguir numerosos clientes, lanzó oficialmente Oak.C Lawn and Landscaping como una empresa LLC en marzo de 2025. Su empresa quedará como su legado duradero. Le sobreviven su padre, Juan Cantarero; sus hermanos: Herica Cantarero, Gerson Rodríguez,, Martha Rodríguez, Aracely Castillo, Elías Castillo, Daniela Orellana y Kenia Cantarero (por parte de padre);; además de numerosos familiares, amigos y compañeros de trabajo que lo amaban y respetaban profundamente. Le precedió en la muerte su madre, Eva Castillo.
